Partnership Against Child Exploitation (PACE)
Challenge
PACE was a £12 million, UK Government-funded programme tackling the worst forms of child labour across the Central African Republic, DRC and Ethiopia – a six-partner consortium spanning charities, media development, academia and the private sector (World Vision, War Child, Thomson Reuters Foundation, Columbia University, Fifty Eight and UN Global Compact Network UK). The programme had been referenced in the UK Government’s own Modern Slavery Statement and was about to begin publishing at pace across multiple partners and contexts, but had no design assets beyond a logo, and scant brand guidelines to keep six very different organisations visually and editorially consistent.

Approach
Rather than designing individual publications one at a time, I built the infrastructure first: a full brand identity and a template system that other designers could pick up and use independently.
What I did
- Built InDesign templates for use by other designers, ensuring consistent publishing standards and visual identity across six partner organisations.
- Designed and produced a trainer guide for a radio journalism training course, built to work in low-connectivity field contexts.
- Designed and produced a glossy brochure explaining PACE’s work, combining original copy, photography and graphics.
